week 8

ok so i talked to Roy and his feedback (having not knowing anything about my world except for my smattering of backstory i tried tp explain) was that my characters and [psters need to do more than just portray my 3D skills. like a movie poster or graphic novel cover, something to make the viewer want to learn and explore more about my world. the background needs to be evocative and the character needs to be explainable but intoxicating to look at. it needs more things. more shawls and machinery and what not. more!

so lances greyscale is almost complete. just his legs left to do no, and reassemble his other hand, and his head, and hair, and extras...

Time for a Break. Time for KitKat

So most of the attempts at clothes have failed so far. I've got one or two pieces which ill use? I'm pretty sure its in the last post. the big long superhero cloak. no... imagine that but made of smoke! cool right? but ill make the other clothes first.

forexample, he really needs pants. robes just weren't working and the last set looked like a miniskirt with a towel under it.

there they are. those pants below. just awkward looking. but i think this render was to show the pose and the skull piece on his waist.

yes, thats a skull piece. you'll see.

this part was a mission. fucken hands,

fun fact: I'm not going to texture these hands, just map them and turn them black.

so i textured them a little. muscle and tendons, if you look closely.

give him a hand everybody!

and this is how keyshot does alpha maps. either I'm doing something wrong or i need to figure out another way of rendering so i can do a background. i reckon if i just make the background green and then green screen it out that might work. that might even affect the see through pieces.

and this is where I've come to today. yes, i wrote all this posts writing up just now. unless i add more stuff still. which i might. its only thursday. anyway, no more work tonight! food time.

i should tell you my plan too while I'm here. I'm not colouring anything in yet, its all grayscale or black or just blunt textures still. I'm going to make both models in monotone so i can just bust the colour out quick and fluid, else ill get lost.
